Hailing from Greenville, SC, Captain Kyle Morella was raised in the great outdoors with early memories harnessed to his dad’s chest in the sparkling freshwater streams of the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains. 

 

Learning to cast a fly rod at 10-years-young, Kyle’s obsession with fishing was only paced by his passion for baseball. After finishing his degree at USC Upstate and hanging up his cleats, Kyle moved on to bigger fish (figuratively and literally). 

 

Rain or shine, calm or chop, Kyle is all about learning hook, line and sinker. Tenaciously, consistently practicing the craft, his innate curiosity drives him to find the holds, know winds and tides like the back of his hand and understand how all of this will affect the fish from tails one day to spooking the next. 

 

For Kyle, the magic is in the exploration and experience and there is no better teacher than time on the water. He finds when you take care of the small things, the big pieces fall into place and cannot wait to share it all this and more with whomever is in his boat. 

 

Kyle joined the Good People Marine ranks in 2022 and is available for fishing charters and captain for hire services.
